Gracias Music Foundation: Cultivating and empowering musicians that give back to the community

Please describe the activation your organization seeks to launch.

Gracias Music Foundation serves people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. The Foundation promises to fulfill the dreams of those who aspires to be musicians and artists. Gracias Music Foundation helps many people break free from their limitations and fulfill their potential, which is the mindset that has brought Gracias Choir to the zenith of the choral music world.

Describe in greater detail how your activation will make LA the best place to connect?


GMF has been holding a series of small community concerts in which it brings the music to the people, such as in hospitals and senior living facilities. GMF believes that music can heal the soul and that no one should be excluded.

After School Programs:

The tremendous number of musical instruments and equipment left behind at many school without adequate funding or people to teach them, has created a void. GMF aims to fill the void by bringing these instruments back to life. In addition to their musical skills, GMF hopes to greater music appreciation, amplify it’s history, and bolster the heart behind the music.

How will your activation engage Angelenos to make LA the best place to connect

We intend to engage all members of Los Angeles, however we will target primarily communities located near the Shrine Auditorium and Long Beach performing Arts Center. We employ strategies such as volunteer workshops, door to door flyer advertisements, giving volunteer credit for students, etc.

By how many Angelenos will attend and CONNECT at our events.

Where do you hope this activation or your organization will be in five years?

We hope to have a world-class music school that will serve students from ALL socioeconomic backgrounds
